Friends Fill Life's Garden

Good morning! Dropping by this morning with a little card I put together using a couple recently released stamp sets from Simon Says Stamp and a few Altenew inks that I recently purchased and fell in love with!

As I was swatching all my new ink colors, and looking at them all pretty and everything, I pulled up some color combos on Pinterest that I had been wanting to try, and jotted down the names of the colors for some of them. So when I sat down to make a card, I pulled out the ink colors that worked with this color combo:

I used the new Sending Flowers Stamp set - while it is designed for stamping on envelopes, but also works beautifully for cards like this! I added a sentiment from Friends of Life as well that went perfect with the florals. I die cut it with a Stitched Square, then used a hole punch to add some little half hole punches to each side tor est my jute twine in. A bit of Sparkling Clear Confetti from Pretty Pink Posh and some thin gold Glitter washi tape finish this card off.

Beautiful Penguin

Good morning! Popping by with another simple card using a darling new image from Unity Stamp Company that I watercolored in the hospital waiting room while my mom had her surgery this past week!

This image is amazing! You don't have to add much to this image to make it shine - it would even look amazing just in black and white with the balloon colored in!

Chick Time!

Good morning! Wow...what a week it has been! My mom had a planned surgery earlier this week, and when my sister came down with a nasty cold the day before, it ended up being a crazy week for me! I love my momma so I was happy to help and be there for her. However, the blog here obviously got pretty quiet!

I did bring in some new images from Unity Stamp Company and my watercolors to the hospital waiting room - which was a lovely way to pass the time. For some reason, I find watercoloring so relaxing and soothing. Yesterday I took a few minutes to place the 6 images I colored onto simple cards. No Quick Tip videos this time around, but I was glad to be able to at least play with some of the new stuff! Here is one of those cards using the darling new release - Chick Time:

Bright watercoloring, some wonky layers from an Echo Park paper pad, and a bit of jute twine made this an easy card to put together.

Forever and Always - SSS Card Kit

Good Morning! Back this morning with another card using the new June Card Kit for Simon Says Stamp - I played with the stamp set and pattern paper for this card!

For this card I used the florals from the included stamp set in two different ways. I stamped them on the reverse side of one of the pattern papers in the kit - hard to see in the photos, but it is actually a soft pink color. I added some details with a white gel pen to accent it. I then stamped and heat embossed the florals in white on vellum and fussy cut them out. Those were tucked behind the front panel that had been matted in black cardstock, then mounted with foam over some more of the pattern paper from the kit. A few clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh finish this one off!

Here is a look at the entire kit contents - you can find it HERE. The watercolors are super fun, and if you have been wanting to try the Distress Oxide inks this is a great opportunity for that as well!
